Brother Corhyn is one of the most prominent holy scholars in Elden Ring, offering players valuable incantations and a deep narrative path. Tracking his narrative journey alongside the mysterious Goldmask reveals critical lore secrets about the Lands Between. Following every phase correctly allows players to unlock a unique alternate ending.
Beginning the Faith Scholar Journey
Players first encounter Brother Corhyn sitting in the central room of Roundtable Hold. He acts as a primary incantation merchant early in the game. After you reach the Altus Plateau, Corhyn announces his intention to leave the hold to search for the noble Goldmask.
You can locate Corhyn next near the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace beside the regional map monument. Speaking with him will prompt a search for Goldmask, who stands on the northern section of the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge. Returning to Corhyn with this news causes him to reunite with Goldmask at that exact spot.
Solving the Leyndell Statue Riddle
As the story progresses into Leyndell, Royal Capital, both NPCs relocate near the cliffside close to the colosseum. To advance their questline, players must solve a famous puzzle located near the Erdtree Sanctuary. You must acquire the Golden Order Principia prayerbook and learn the Law of Regression incantation.
Standing before the large statue of Radagon down the elevator from the sanctuary, cast Law of Regression to reveal the secret truth. Informing Goldmask of this revelation moves both characters forward to the Mountaintops of the Giants. This critical step must be completed before burning the Erdtree at the Forge of the Giants.
Important Choice with the Tonic of Forgetfulness
When you meet Corhyn near the Stargazer Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants, he begins to doubt his master's vision. Players who possess the Tonic of Forgetfulness from Volcano Manor have an option to offer it to Corhyn. Choosing whether or not to give him the tonic subtly impacts his ultimate fate in the endgame.
If you offer the potion, Corhyn refuses it, but he will remain at the bridge in Mountaintops of the Giants after the capital turns to ash. If you do not offer the potion, he moves to Leyndell, Ashen Capital, near the base of the giant spear. Regardless of this choice, Goldmask's reward remains accessible near the colosseum cliffs.
Claiming the Mending Rune of Perfect Order
After defeating Maliketh in Farum Azula, return to the transformed Leyndell, Ashen Capital. Head to the bottom of the colosseum cliff face to locate Goldmask's body. From him, players can retrieve the Mending Rune of Perfect Order, which is required for the Age of Order ending.
Reloading the area grants you Goldmask's armor set, while Corhyn's equipment can be gathered at his final location. Completing this quest provides immense lore clarity regarding Queen Marika and Radagon. It stands as one of the most rewarding NPC storylines throughout the entire game.
